You really earned that pin. I was there to celebrate literally hours after the results came in. Congratulations! Are you going for Level 2 next?
Carruth Cellars in Solana Beach this weekend was alive with tasters at the annual Barrel Tasting Party. We made sure to get our pours from Megan, one of Carruth’s best wine stewards. Thank you Megan for the generous pours. We all split a case of Carruth futures. Can’t wait for that to arrive.

The MiraCosta class Old World vs. New World completed six sessions where everyone had a fantastic time comparing Old vs. New World wines. We even ended with a single blind tasting. Success at the mid-week gathering of the Cardiff 101 Mainstreet Association Mixer. Three wines were tasted with commentary from KutaSomm, including the fantastic 2017 Mazévo Rose from the Encinitas-based wine operation Mazévo. Check out their wines at Seaside Market, The Roxy, and other locations in the North County Coastal area. Mazévo rocks!
